Fitness Assessments
A personal trainer’s primary responsibility is to provide safe and effective exercise guidance and instructions, to help clients successfully attain their personal health and wellness goals. To achieve these goals personal trainers, require a comprehensive understanding of each clients:
- Personal and professional background.
- Physical capabilities
- Health status
- Goals and desires
Comprehensive fitness assessments provide a method of systematically gathering information about clients, that are used to help ensure safe and effective exercise programs are planned and followed. However, fitness assessments are not designed to diagnose any condition or to replace a medical examination and clients will be referred to qualified health care providers where necessary.
Posture analysis
Proper posture will help keep muscles at their proper length, allowing muscles to work in synergy together. This ensures good joint motion and reduces the risk of injuries, such as sprains, tendonitis and lower back pain by analysing your posture while sitting, standing and with movement, I can determine the exercises needed to correct any imbalances found and re-train your body to hold its best posture. A posture analysis can search for any imbalances that can in the long-term lead to injury.
Movement assessments
Factors such as poor posture, repetitive movement, pattern overload, lack of movement and injury, can affect the muscles around a joint. The movement patterns become altered and cause a chain reaction that affect other muscles and joints throughout the body.
Movement assessments will help to identify muscle imbalances, weak or inactive muscles, tight or overactive muscles and injury risk. These can be addressed by working on strengthening the target muscles and/or working on their flexibility. Consequently, by embarking on the required programme of corrective strategies, we can improve strength and the range of movement.
Physiological assessments
Lastly physiological assessments, body composition, heart rates, circumference measurements etc will provide measurable data that track changes in a client. This allows us to safely achieve your goals. We will track your progress through your fitness journey and ensure you get the results you want.
